This week I’m hosting Elizabeth Goddard with Sheltering Love, Sandra Bricker with Always the Designer Never the Bride, and Vannetta Chapman with A Perfect Square.  If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (March 25th) evening.

Interview with the hero from Sheltering Love by Elizabeth Goddard:

1. Graeme Hawthorne, tell me the most interesting thing about you. The most interesting thing about me might sound a little boring, but I think it’s fascinating. I’m a canopy biologist—meaning I study the treetops, specifically redwoods.

2. What do you do for fun? I enjoy climbing the tallest trees in the world as part of my job, and I can’t think of anything more exhilarating, but if I had to choose something that wasn’t work related, I’d have to say I love to walk the beaches on the Oregon coast. They’re some of the most beautiful in the world. I’m sure you can already tell I’m a nature guy.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? My pastor, Jacob, keeps telling me the Truth will set me free, but I keep running from having to tell anyone what really happened in Costa Rica when Summer died. So I guess you could say I dread facing the truth, facing the demons of my past. I guess you could say I’m hiding in the trees, and I dread anyone finding me here.

4. What are you afraid of most in life? I’m afraid that someone might end up hurt because of me and the secret I’ve kept. Maybe I’m a coward for not facing things head-on. Or maybe I’m a preservationist.

5. What do you want out of life? I didn’t realize until Alexa found me, that I want the freedom to love again, to love without fear.

6. What is the most important thing to you? God. I’m so grateful for this magnificent creation He’s given us.

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? I love to read science fiction. Jules Verne is one of my favorite, but a more recent author would be Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I even dabble writing a little myself.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? You would have to ask. I would change the way I react when facing certain death. I would change my actions after my fiancé was killed in Costa Rica—if I had reacted differently to everything, then I wouldn’t be living in fear, hiding in the treetops.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? I don’t have a pet but I enjoy wildlife because I live and work in nature on most days. I have to be prepared to pick up and leave on a moment’s notice, so I can’t keep a pet.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I would go back to Costa Rica and stopped Summer from snooping around in places where she shouldn’t. I would have left the reforestation project with her, before she was killed.
