Interview with the hero from Redemption Ranch by Leann Harris:
1. Tyler Lynch tell me the most interesting thing about you. I’m a demolitions expert. Give me a bomb and I can defuse it. I didn’t know I had this talent, but Army showed me things I didn’t know about myself. I also have a great dog, Dogger, who is a born natural bomb sniffing dog. He was self-taught and save my bacon more than once.
2. What do you do for fun? That’s a new concept for me. Being a foster kid, but the teens I’m working with now have shown me how to relax. I am the pinball champion.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? I put off talking about my feelings, but the guilt that ate my soul finally spill out and now I see the world in a new light.
4. What are you afraid of most in life? Facing the ghosts of the past.
5. What do you want out of life? To help my buddy’s little brother grow up to be the man he should be. When my friend died in Iraq, I made a promise to him to watch over his kid brother.
6. What is the most important thing to you? Living up to my word. I keep myself on track that way.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book? I loved the Man in the Iron Mask. Books are your best friend when you go from one foster home to another.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I’d like to laugh more, but since Miss Beth McClure crossed my path, I haven’t had much of a choice. It’s laugh or cry.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? I do. Dogger a mutt I picked up in Iraq. The little squirt crawled out from under the fender of a blowup truck. I took him back to our camp and raised him. He’s a good listener and doesn’t ask silly questions about what I saw in Iraq.
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? I’d go back to 1776 to meet George Washington. I would’ve loved to talk to the man, ask his view and talked to him about how he thought about life.
