Heroine Interview from Threads of Hope by Andrea Boeshaar:
1. Kristin Eikass, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I have come from Norway to America where I hope to fulfill my dreams of someday working in shop that will carry my hand-woven items.
2. What do you do for fun?
I enjoy sitting at the spinning wheel. I love the feel of the course wool in my palm because I know that I can turn it into soft yarn. I also like to knit everything from dainty items like doilies to lovely, graceful-flowing shawls.
3. What are you afraid of most in life?
Oppression. My father was a farmer in Norway and oppressed by the man who owned the fields. The more crops we grew the more Poppa owed, either the landlord or the government in taxes.
4. What do you want out of life?
Freedom. Freedom to follow my dreams.
5. What is the most important thing to you?
A loving sense of family – like the one she had in Norway.
6. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I can read, but I never had access to books. Wonderful books. The kind of books that I hope to learn to read once I learn English.
7. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I weren’t so frightened by others and what they may think of me.
8. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I would to go back in time to Norway before the plague ravaged our little village. Read the book and find out all the details.
