Interview with the heroine from Silent Night, Deadly Night in Season of Danger by Hannah Alexander:

Tess Vance, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’m independent, and that’s not always a good thing. Take my situation right now–I’m dependent on my brother because I didn’t listen to him when I became engaged to the wrong man. What did that get me? Heartache. It almost got me killed!
What do you do for fun?
I love to hang out with Sean Torrance, walk along the beach and feed the birds, travel with the rescue mission’s clinic doctor, Megan Bradley. I also love to ride my brother’s stallion, Scorpio when I’m feeling wild and dangerous.
What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I’m not crazy about confrontation, so when I have to confront a worker at the rescue mission about something, I put it off until Sean or my brother, Gerard, have to do it. How’s that for independence?
What are you afraid of most in life?
I’ve seen someone murdered because of me. That’s the most horrible experience I’ve ever had, and I pray it never happens again, because I blame myself.
What do you want out of life?
I want to help people, just like my brothers and Sean are doing. I love the rescue mission, and seeing the different we can make in the lives of others, especially those who are willing to help us help them. My brother, Gerard, has a plan to open a rehab center for those homeless who are eager to learn a new job and get back out into the work arena. When that happens, I know I’ll be taking on more responsibility at the mission here, and that’s just fine with me.
What is the most important thing to you?
Preserving my faith. I grew away from it once, allowing dreams of success and the good life to draw me away from my roots. I don’t want that to happy again. Maybe it will. Maybe I’ll stumble again. I can’t say. But I do know God is faithful even when I’m not.
Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I love to read romance novels. I’m not talking about affairs, but true, honest, down deep love that grows from the heart of two characters until they are intertwined to one. Just don’t tell Gerard that, because he’ll never let me live it down. As a big brother, he’s pretty good, but sometimes his take on life can irritate me. There’s nothing wrong with romance. I think he’s going to discover that soon enough.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would change my temper. That’s one thing I’ve never controlled as well as I’d like.
Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I don’t have a single pet, but Gerard has so many on his ranch that I’m never far from animal affection. His doberman’s, Romper and Roxie, love to fight over me.
If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I would travel back to the time this spring when my fiance was intentionally killed by a driver on the street. I would have broken the engagement earlier, because I knew before he died that I didn’t really love him.

  2. A lovely interview. I already have SEASON OF DANGER on my wish list. It looks wonderful.
