This week I’m hosting Lena Nelson Dooley with Maggie’s Journey, Lisa Jordan with Lakeside Reunion, Noelle Marchand with Unlawfully Wedded Bride, and Lynda Schab with Mind Over Madi. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (November 6th) evening.

Interview with the hero from Lakeside Reunion by Lisa Jordan:

1.  Stephen, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I’m a widower, father to an amazing kid, Tyler, and a Shelby Lake police officer. For some reason, my sister keeps trying to fix me up, but I have enough on my plate right now without complicating it with romance.

2.  What do you do for fun?

I build furniture in my garage. There’s something about creating pieces out of wood that I find therapeutic.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Laundry and dishes. Seems like the dryer has become our dresser lately. And paper plates look more appealing every day.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

Dishonoring my family again.

5.  What do you want out of life?

A successful career, a happy well-adjusted son who stops crying nightly for his mother, and eventually a supportive, loving wife.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

Honor and family.

7.  Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

Between work and caring for Tyler, reading drops on the list of priorities. I try to read my Bible daily, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. When I do get time, I leaf through woodworking magazines or grab a political thriller.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Try to give my son more of what he needs—a cleaner house, better meals. I’d probably try to stop micromanaging God’s leading in my life too.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

Ty’s been begging for a dog, but man, that’s one more thing to add to our hectic lives. But I can see he’s craving one, so maybe we’ll check out the upcoming Pets on Parade at Triangle Park to see if the Humane Society has pups for adoption.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I wouldn’t have drank so much the night of my wetdown when I was promoted in the Marine Corps. I wouldn’t have slept with Bethany. I wouldn’t have missed my sister’s wedding. I wouldn’t have ruined my relationship with Lindsey. The only good that came out of that night was Tyler. I don’t regret him at all. I just wish I hadn’t hurt so many people with my destructive behavior.
