This week I’m hosting Jennifer Hudson Taylor with Highland Sanctuary, Rachelle McCalla with Princess in Peril, and Donita K. Paul with Dragon of the Watch. If you want to enter the drawings for the books, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (October 16th) evening.

Interview with the heroine from Princess from Peril by Rachelle McCalla:

Isabelle of Lydia, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Most people think the most interesting thing about me is the fact that I’m a princess.  Personally, I wish people could look past who I am to what I do, and focus on my missions building deep-water wells in Africa.  I try to leverage my royal influence to draw attention to the plight of those who don’t have access to clean water, but all the media ever wants to cover is the gossip about my failed engagement.

What do you do for fun?

I’m so sorry.  I’m a princess.  I’ve got a nation to represent, a mission to fulfill, and this really annoying bodyguard, Levi Grenaldo, who keeps getting in my way.  I don’t have time to have fun.

What do you put off doing because you dread it?

I really don’t like to talk about this, but I’ve never dated.  At all.  And then, out of the blue when I was only nineteen, my father arranged for me to marry a Greek billionaire.  Call me naïve, but I thought Tyrone Spiteri wanted to marry me for love.  Once I figured out what he was really after, I couldn’t bring myself to date anyone.  The media calls me the Ice Princess.  They say I’m too frigid to fall in love.  Someday I’d like to prove them wrong, but I’m afraid.  What if they’re right?

What are you afraid of most in life?

Besides the possibility that I might truly be too frigid to fall in love, I’m afraid of what’s happening in my country.  This new bodyguard, for one thing.  He came out of nowhere, and when I asked my father, King Philip, to have Levi removed, my father refused.  Something is definitely wrong.

What do you want out of life?

I want to make the world a better place for other people, specifically the children in need of clean water.

What is the most important thing to you?

My duty to God and my country are more important to me than anything else.  As a princess of Lydia, I have a royal obligation to serve our tiny Christian kingdom, and I take that duty very seriously.  That’s why I’m so worried about what may be happening in Lydia…

Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I enjoy reading books, especially biographies about other princesses and how they’ve dealt with the trials of royal life.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wish I knew what it was like to be in love.

Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I travel too much to keep a pet.  It wouldn’t be fair to them.

If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I wish I could go back in time and find out why my father hired this new bodyguard for me.  Something tells me trouble is brewing in Lydia.  If only I knew what it was…

  3. How heartbreaking that she feels she can’t love. I’d be an unhappier person if I couldn’t have my pets and my guide dogs. Sometime I like dogs better then people. 😉

  4. I wonder about the bodyguard. what is his reason for being there?
Yes, I don’t envy the life of a princess.
