Heroine Interview from A Heart Revealed by Julie Lessman

» Posted on Aug 17, 2011 in Blog | 105 comments

A HEART REVEALED COVERThis week I’m hosting Leanna Ellis with Plain Fear: Forsaken, Julie Lessman with A Heart Revealed, Miralee Ferrell with Love Finds You in Sundance, Wyoming, and Sarah Sundin withBlue Skies Tomorrow. If you want to enter the drawings, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (August 21st) evening.

Interview with the heroine from A Heart Revealed: Emma Malloy

1.  Emma, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Something interesting about me? Goodness, I’m afraid I’m rather boring next to my best friend, Charity O’Connor, who’s so colorful and full of life and love and fun. But I actually like it that way—safe and secure behind the scenes, you know? I suppose I’m just not all that comfortable in the limelight, at least not since I’ve had these scars on my face. But … I do have a fascinating job! I am the manager of Dennehy’s Department Store in downtown Boston, second to Filene’s in size, but first in customer satisfaction, I’ll have you know! So if I shine at all, that’s where it would be—dickering with salesmen over surcharges on a foreign shipment, battling a shipping agent over late delivery, or soothing a disgruntled customer. But the best? Working shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the dearest, albeit grumpiest, employees I’ve met. No, not employees—more like family!

2.  What do you do for fun?

Well, I love to paint and knit and, oh yes—play dominoes with my landlord Mrs. Peep and my young neighbor, Casey Herringshaw. We have so much fun every Sunday evening, giggling and chatting like three teenage girls, even though Mrs. Peep is in her seventies and I’m in my thirties. And then, Charity and I love to go shopping together, mostly for her, of course, because as a widow of sorts—my estranged husband is still back in Dublin, you know—I really have no need to dress up, even though Charity insists that I do. I have to smile because she’s constantly playing with my makeup and my hair, which I have to admit, I do enjoy. I guess it makes me feel pretty and feminine again, like I used to so long ago. But I would have to say the thing I miss the most is dancing! I was quite the dancer in my day back in Ireland, you know, before I married Rory. So you can imagine the fun I had teaching Charity’s brother, Sean, how to dance. The poor man is a confirmed bachelor who’s been invited to a wedding, and I coaxed him into learning the Lindy Hop and the Foxtrot. My, but we had a grand time!

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Talking about my past. Life with Rory was difficult, to say the least, and I’d much rather forget about that and focus on my life now, drawing closer to God, running the store, loving and enjoying my friends—especially the O’Connors, who have made me feel like one of their own.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

People with tempers and my past.

5.  What do you want out of life?

Deep faith, good friends, and a heart free of guilt.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

God, first and foremost, and then my friends.

7.  Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

Sad to say, I don’t have a lot of time for pleasure reading, as I spend long hours at the store with my assistant manager, Sean O’Connor, and the rest of my time is devoted to friends, tutoring and mentoring neighbors, or spending time at the O’Connors sewing, chatting or just playing games like Pinochle and Whist. When I do read, it’s usually the Bible, which gives me great peace.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would eradicate my scars, both those on the outside from when my husband threw hot grease in my face, and then those on my soul.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

Oh, yes, a bored red tabby named Lancelot with orange stripes the color of marmalade on fresh cream and Guinevere—a fluffy white Persian who I rescued as a kitten from a cruel boy who abused her with a stick. She’s missing an eye, and somehow I’ve always felt a kinship with this helpless, little creature with whom I share a bond.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I would go back to Dublin, Ireland when I was a little girl, and I would work so much harder to love my parents and to obey them before it was too late. And, God help me, if given the chance, I would make different choices than I had, sparing me a lifetime of pain and guilt. But I wouldn’t change a thing about my life with Charity—working at Shaw’s Emporium together, or traveling to Boston to open a store and meeting her family. Especially her brother Sean, a man who showed me that, yes, true love is possible.

    shortstuffftw@hotmail.com

    • KELLY!!! I am SO sorry I missed you, but I actually respond to comments in order, but it seems some don’t show up till later, and I notice I didn’t catch them. In fact, it’s happened so much, that I decided to start at the beginning to make sure I responded to everybody and LO AND BEHOLD … I find you!!

And I’m so excited I can barely stand it either, girl, so I sure hope it’s worth the wait! Here’s to a win!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  3. I love how with all she has been through Emma has a heart for God. Her past may still effect her but she still yearns for Him and works to overcome the past.
I have no doubt I will enjoy this book as I have all the others in the series.

    • TAMMY … like I told Kelly above, PLEASE FORGIVE ME for skipping over you, but some comments don’t show up till later, and then I notice I didn’t catch them. In fact, it’s happened so much, that I decided to start at the beginning to make sure I responded to everybody and here you are!!

And, yeah, I have to admit, if I had been through what Emma has been through, I probably wouldn’t be so high on God as she is, but that is her strength in this book — her reliance on Him is ROCK solid!! I hope you enjoy her story, and let’s see if we can’t pull out a win in this contest … 🙂

      Hugs,
      Julie

  4. I would love to win a copy of a Heart Revealed. I can relate to Emma in so many ways!

    Blessings!

    judyjohn2004[at]yahoo[dot]com

    • Hey, JUDY … I would definitely love for you to win a copy, too, because Emma is an AMAZING character, if I must say so myself. Mary Connealy said in her endorsement:

“Julie Lessman brings all her passion for romance rooted in her passion for God to A Heart Revealed. Emma Malloy is her finest heroine yet.”

Never have I had the privilege of writing a more selfless heroine than Emma, and I can honestly say that after getting to know her, I will never be the same as an author.

Good luck in the contest, sweetie!

      Hugs,
      Julie

    • JUDY!!!

If you can relate to Emma, then I would probably love to have you as a friend because she is an AMAZING friend to Charity O’Connor, but in all honesty, Charity is an AMAZING friend to her too, so they’re pretty even. It’s just that Emma is a lot sweeter and gentler than Charity … like you probably are, I guess! Thanks for stopping by and good luck in the contest. 🙂

      Hugs,
      Julie

  5. I would love to win this book! I love Julie Lessman’s books!! Thanks for the chance!!

    mlb108[at]gmail[dot]com

    • MELISSA!!! Hey, girl, good to see you here!

This book is a little different take for me as it is a wee bit more spiritual and less passionate because Emma Malloy is married, so I could not have many romantic scenes between Emma and Sean. But … Katie and Luke MORE than make up for it, I assure you! 🙂

      Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  6. I love all of these books! Can’t wait to read this one!! Have a great day!

    Julie

  14. I would LOVE to win this book!! The Daughters of Boston Series are some of the best books I’ve ever read! marissamehresman@aol.com

    • Hey, MARISSA — thank you SO very much for your kind words!! I hope when all is said and done, you like the Winds of Change series as much or more. Here’s to a win, my friend!

      Hugs,
      Julie

    • Gosh, thanks, SUSAN … Revell has done a very nice job on all my covers, so I am blessed. Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  16. Hi Julie,

I just have to read this book! Emma’s character sounds fascinating with all the difficulties you’ve given her to work through.

Please enter me in the drawing!

    jandrex(at)juno(dot)com

    • Hey, JAN, soooo nice to see a Seeker friend here, so thanks for coming by!!

I have to admit, Emma is a pretty fascinating character, which is what Sean discovers to the nth degree in this book. Of course, Charity has always known it because Emma is her best friend, and so has Mitch because Emma was around when Charity put him through the paces in book 2 of the DOB series, A Passion Redeemed. My husband says this is his favorite book of mine so far because he LOVES Emma. I hope everybody else does too! Good luck, my friend.

      Hugs,
      Julie

  17. I’ve just started A Hope Undaunted and LOVE IT!! I would just love to win this book 🙂

    Katelyn
    kfloodle@gmail.com

    • KATELYN!!! YAY!!! A Hope Undaunted is my FAV of all the books I’ve written, so I sure hope you end up liking it too. Luke McGee is hands-down one of my favorite heroes I’ve written (and I love them all, so that’s saying something), so I hope he gets under your skin as well. He sure gets under Katie’s, that we know for sure! 🙂

      Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  18. What a great interview! The books sounds like a fun read!

    Salena
    srstormo at yahoo dot com

    • SALENA … thanks, sweetie!! Fun? Yeah, there’s a lot of that in it, but tears, too, so get read for an emotional ride … 🙂

      Hugs,
      Julie

      • Oh! Now I am really intrigued! I love a mixture of laughter and tears…it is my favorite emotion, ha! Explains why I love the movie Steel Magnolias ha!

        • Oh, SALENA, then are you in for a wild ride!! I take it you have never read my books before??? People have told me they have THROWN them across the room at times because they get SO frustrated at the situations. And tears??? Oh, honey … keep the Kleenex handy, okay? But there’s laughter, too, with the quirky funny sisters in the family, particularly Charity and Katie, so buckle up girl, okay? Hugs, Julie

  19. I love Julie’s heroines, and Emma sounds no different 🙂 I’m very interested in seeing how she develops and changes as a character. These “interviews” are an interesting way to preview new books. I’m looking forward to reading this one 🙂

    • KATHRYN … thank you SO much! And, actually, Emma is a different kind of character for me. Physically scarred and married, so it was a new experience for me not having any romantic scenes between Sean and Emma until the end. Although I had intended to write Emma as a very scarred individual, my publisher wanted me to soften the scars, etc., which I did. But even so, she is a beautiful character on the inside, which makes her beautiful on the outside too … especially to Sean!

Thanks for coming by and good luck!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  20. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read a Julie Lessman book! I can’t wait for this to come out so I can read it!!

    wowendi{at}gmail{dot}com

    • And I love, love, LOVE a reader friend like you, Wendi, so THANK YOU!! I hope you enjoy the book.

      Hugs,
      Julie

  21. Love all of Julie’s books! I’m doing the Revell blog tour for this book so no need to enter me. Just wanted to wave and say “hey!”

    • MICHELLE!!! I just LOVE it when I see your beautiful face, girlfriend, and boy, are we gonna miss that beautiful face at ACFW this year!!

Soooo glad you are doing the Revell blog tour for AHR — THANK YOU!! You write some of the best reviews around, my friend, seriously.

      Hugs,
      Julie

  22. Excellent interview, Julie. Emma’s character really comes through. Her story with the abusive husband and the disfigurement is intriguing in itself, but to pair her up with Sean, and with Charity in the background makes this book a must-read.

Good job with the interview, Margaret.

    anitamae (at) anitamaedraper (dot) com

    • ANITA MAE!!! Hey, sweetie, you’re one of the ones I’m really looking forward to seeing at ACFW, girl, so get ready for your hugs!!

And, OH, GIRL … you nailed it on this story — Emma’s abusive past, Sean’s easy-going personality (with some surprise demons) and good ol’ Charity’s quirky humor promises to take the reader on a real ride … 🙂

I agree, Anita Mae, and I’m glad you said something because I forgot to — this is a WONDERFUL interview idea, Margaret, and as far as I know (other than Relz Review’s wonderful Character Spotlights), you are the only one who does it. Love it!!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  23. Well, there’s only a handful of Melissa’s here, why not another? I’d love to win it, will have to buy Katie’s first if I do before I can read it! (haven’t bought that one yet) Don’t want to miss one. 🙂

    • Hey, MELISSA #3 — you can never have enough Melissas, girl, so I’m glad you stopped by — THANK YOU!!

If you win, sweetie, I will be happy to send you A Hope Undaunted instead of A Heart Revealed so you can catch up!! A Hope Undaunted is my FAV of all the books I’ve written, so I definitely don’t want you to miss out on that. Cluny McGee is just TOO fabulous all grown up!! Hubba, hubba!! 🙂

Good luck in the contest, my friend!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  24. Please enter me in the drawing for your book. It sounds fascinating!

    • Hey, JUSTINA … thank you for your interest, and I hope and PRAY it’s “fascinating, not only to you, but to a few other people as well! 🙂 Time will tell …

      Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  25. I have never read one of your books before, Julie, but I would certainly love to! I have read good reviews of some of your others. Thanks so much for this chance to win!

    • Oh, CHARITY … girl, you are JUST the type of person I am looking for, sweetie — somebody who has never read my books before!!! 🙂

I DEFINITELY want to get a book in your hot, little hands, so if you don’t win here, PLEASE check out my website calendar for a listing of the blog giveaways I have going this month and next. I usually do about 30-50 giveaways, but my publisher is limiting me to only 10 this release, so take advantage of the few that are on the calendar, okay?

And if you win, I would want to send you the very first book in the series, A Passion Most Pure, because this is a family saga that is really best read in order due to a number of HUGE surprises (uh, including who she ends up with!!), so it’s not your typical easy-breezy romance, okay? And APMP is a good book to start with because it not only fills you in on all the background of this VERY passionate family, but it also won American Christian Fiction Writers Debut Book of the Year for 2009, so at least that shows it doesn’t bay at the moon (i.e. it’s not a dog, I hope!). 🙂

Anyway, THANK YOU for your interest, and good luck in the contest!!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  26. Thank you so much for the chance to win this. This looks like a great book. I would love to read this. Thanks again.

    agent_beckster(at)yahoo(dot)com

    • Hey, REBECCA, thank you for coming by, and it kind of sounds like you haven’t read my books before, so if that is the case, PLEASE check my comment above to Charity U. because the same applies to you, okay?

Good luck in the contest, sweetie!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  27. I enjoyed Emma’s story and can’t wait to read your book Julie. After reading Emma’s interview I know I will enjoy her story.
Thanks for this opportunity to enter giveaway.

    misskallie2000

    • MissKallie … Sooooo good to see you here, my friend, and I have a feeling you are going to love Emma’s story because you cannot help but love Emma — as Mary Connealy said in her endorsement, “Emma Malloy is (Julie’s) finest heroine yet.” She just is, flat-out, one of the kindest, gentlest heroines I’ve ever had the privilege to write. 🙂

Would love to hear what you think after you read it, so let me know and here’s to a win!!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  28. Hi. I have read all of Julie Lessman’s books and they have a nice home on my keeper shelf. Can’t wait to read Emma’s story and see her happily ever after. Please enter me. Thanks. sweetdarknectar at gmail dot com

    • AMY … LOVE your addy — “sweetdarknectar”! Sounds VERY interesting!!

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for your kind words AND for just buying my books — MUCH appreciated! I hope you enjoy Emma’s story as well, so good luck in the contest, my friend.

      Hugs,
      Julie

  29. Sounds like a character I would like to read more of! Thanks for the chance to win.
    twinwillowsfarm at gmail dot com

    • Hey, PEGG … well, I sure hope so and would love to see you get the chance to meet Emma in this heart-wrenching story. She is definitely a unique character, and the fact that she is married and her abusive husband is still alive makes it all the more unique in Christian fiction, because there aren’t many love stories between a married woman and the hero, right?

      Here’s to a win, sweetie!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  30. So excited for this book 🙂

Very cool blog, I like how the speach bubbles look like they’re floating through the sky!

    • Hey, FAYE, thanks for coming by, my friend, and I’m excited too!! Can’t wait till some of my favorite reader friends such as yourself get their mitts on it!!

And I agree about Margaret’s blog — I think it’s one of the coolest ones out there, so I am blessed she is hosting this interview.

Have a great weekend, and good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  31. OMG! Julie, Talk about a teaser–that was beautifully done and now I have to read this book!

    • Hey, DEB, SO good to see you here, girl!! Thanks for the kind words, and I’m a wee bit inclined to agree that YES, you “have” to read this book!!! But then, I’m a wee bit prejudiced … 🙂

      Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  34. so excited about this book… thanks for sharing more about Emma… thanks again for writing!! You are an inspiration and encouragement…I know this is gonna be another 5 star – or should I say 10 star, if that’s possible book!!

    • JOETTA!!! LOL … a 10-star review, eh??? Boy, that would sure help me to wipe out the 1-stars that pull my ratings down, now wouldn’t it??? I am glad I am a 10-star with you, my friend, because you and your family are definitely a 10-star with me!!

It won’t be long now, so I cannot WAIT to hear what you think of AHR!!!

      Love you!
      Julie

  35. I NEED THIS BOOK! LOL My bookcase looks so sad with two places missing for the rest of the books in this awesome series! I have everyone on high alert for this book-I think they became addicted just like I did! Thanks for the awesome O’Connor saga!

    • BETHANY!!! LOL … you are TOO cute, girl — “high alert”???? And oh boy, oh boy, just WAIT till you get a load of Steven’s story, the final piece in the O’Connor saga. I had to check some of my facts in the doc for that story and I got pulled right in and I reallllly like it too, so hopefully it will be the perfect ending for a saga that has blessed the socks off of me … and, I hope, my readers like you!!

Let me know what you think when you’re done, okay?

      Hugs,
      Julie

  36. Looks like a good read, please enter me.

    Please enter me.

    • A.J.!!! Thanks for dropping by, my friend, and for your kind comment, especially from a respected peer!

Gosh, I wish I could be as “sure” as you and my husband — he swears that Emma will “put me on the map.” Grin … as long as it’s not the map to the city dump, I guess that would be okay … 🙂 Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  38. would love to win this book :]

    • JUDITH!!! Hey, girlfriend, sooooo great to see you here!! And I would sure love to see you win this book as well. Honestly, I would like to just give everyone a free signed book, but I’m afraid my husband would shoot me … 🙂 He categorizes my income as a “hobby” now as it is … can’t imagine what he would say if I gave all my books away! 😉

      Hugs,
      Julie

  39. I’ve read and Love all of Julie Lessman’s books … Cant wait to read Emma’s story. 😀

If this contest is open to canadians please enter me ….. me_cheerful at hotmail dot com Thanks

    • HEATHER … you bet, sweetie — some of my favorite reader friends are from Canada, so I do not descrimate based on postage. Good luck in the contest!!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  40. I’m excited to read the latest book and find out what happens. The interview makes me like the heroine even more now. Thanks for the book drawing.

    • Hey, CYNTHIA … you know, it’s funny, but when I went to write this interview with Emma, I sat and stared at the monitor forEVER, it seemed, desperate to find something fun and quirky to say about this shy and selfless character. But the truth is she is not “fun and quirky” like Charity, she is solid and sure and quietly strong … like an iron shelf that may not be very pretty to look at, but it will support you and hold you like no other. Those are the qualities that my husband feels will draw readers, so it will be interesting to see if he is right.

Now, me, on the other hand??? Give me the sass and antics of a Charity or Katie, and the fun literally flows from my fingers! 🙂

Thanks for coming by and good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  41. Just had to pop in and say hi to my dear friend Julie. (Waving at Margaret, too–miss you!)

Yet another Julie Lessman book I can’t wait to read! Nice to get a glimpse into Emma’s character in this interview!

    • MYRA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh, it’s ALWAYS soooo much fun to see a Seeker sis drop by, so THANK YOU!! I am glad I was able to give a glimpse into Emma’s character here, the thanks for which I owe to Margaret for her clever interview. 🙂

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend — we have 90 degrees and sunny with LOW humidity — a true rarity in St. Loo!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  42. I loved reading this interview with Emma! I would love to win one of Julie Lessman’s books. I have read all four of them and can’t wait to read ‘A Heart Revealed’! Please enter me in the giveaway.

    lovetoread205 [at] gmail [dot] com

    • MEGAN, LOL!!! Gosh, I wonder if you are excited about this book???? 🙂 Thanks for your three comments, but I suspect the posting mechanisms here were playing with you like they have been with me!!

And I’m with you … the moment Charity brought Emma home and introduced her to Sean, I had a sneaking suspicion that they would have their own story someday, and NOBODY deserves it more than Emma Malloy. 🙂

Good luck in the contest, sweetie!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  44. I really enjoyed reading Emma’s interview. I have been wanting Emma to meet a man who would treat her right since first reading about what her horrible husband did to her. I would love to win ‘A heart Revealed’! I can hardly wait to read it. Please enter me in this great giveaway.

  45. I was hoping that you –er, or should I say, that Emma– would be able to do the heroine interview, Ms. Julie! I love what Emma named her cats … All these sneak peaks and excerpts you post online just make me –ahh! How do I say this?– so much more eager to read AHR! =)

    • LDK!!! Hey, girl, how’s the weather in the Islands??? We had a July here that tipped the 100-degree mark for WEEKS and WEEKS!! I like sun more than the next guy, but when it’s so hot outside that my hubby makes me come in because he’s afraid my Mac will fry, I get a littttttle bit snarky, if you know what I mean!!

And THANK YOU about the cats’ names!! I strained my brain on that one and actually originally only had one cat, a grouchy male type (like Mitch), but somewhere along the line, I gave Emma a girl cat, too, which turned out to be a REAL blessing.

You see, my editor wanted me to make Emma a little bit more feminine and girly so Sean would have something to respond to, so I ended up putting in a scene with Emma in her bedroom, getting ready for bed and she’s teasing her girl cat who likes the smell of the cocoa butter Emma uses for her scars. Anyway, it came to me to make the girl cat a kitten that Emma rescued when a little boy poked the kitten’s eye out with a stick, leaving the kitten scarred and disfigured just like Emma, giving them a common bond. It just worked out to be a really nice touch in the scene, but then God does that for me ALL THE TIME!!!

Thanks for coming by, sweetie, and good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie

      • Ouch! The weather’s been pretty nice here –upper 80s (Fahrenheit) during the day. =)

I think I remember you mentioning on your journal jots that they wanted you to make Emma more feminine.
I’ve been wondering if you named the cats Lancelot and Guinevere to purposely … mirror Emma’s “forbidden love” situation? I just thought of it now, LOL. =)

  46. I would love to win a copy of this book.

    Blessings,
    Jo

    • Hey, JO … thanks for coming by, and trust me … I would love to see you win a copy of this book too!! BUT … if you don’t win here, PLEASE check out my website calendar for additional giveaways, okay? Good luck!

      Hugs,
      Julie

    • LIVVIE!!! Hey, girl, good to see you here, and yes, I do think this will be your fav because you like sweeter, kinder heroines, right? Didn’t you tell me you related to Lizzie the best in the DOB series?? Either way, I suspect Emma will win your heart, my friend, or at least I hope so!! Good luck, sweetie. 🙂

      Hugs,
      Julie

  48. Can’t WAIT for Emma’s story! I always tell myself I’m going to hold off on reading the new Julie Lessman so I don’t have to wait a year for the next one, but lets face it, the minute I get my hands on it it’s read within the day :p Would love to get a chance to win a copy! 🙂

    • SARAH, you sweetheart, you!! Thanks for your very comment, and I cannot wait for you to read it either, girl. And you’re right — I wait for certain books to come out, too, then am SO sad when I read them too quickly, kind of like rushing a meal that took forever to make. Sigh.

But maybe pace yourself while reading it, you know? Like only one chapter a night. 🙂 Yeah, right …

      Hugs,
      Julie

  49. Oh, I so would love to win this book. I have yet to read any books by Julie but she is on my list to read. I read awesome things about her on Casey Herringshaw’s blog among other blogs. Thank you for the chance to win her book!

    Smiles & Blessings,
    Cindy W.

    • CINDY!!! Oh, girl, we just HAVE to get one of my books in your hot, little hands!! And A Heart Revealed would be a good one since it has Casey Herringshaw’s name in it! 😉

If you don’t win here, sweetie, check out my other giveaways on my website calendar for a shot at those, okay? And, gosh, if you don’t win there, put a request in at your library, but be sure to ask for A Passion Most Pure, which is the very first book in this passionate family saga. It won American Christian Fiction Writers Debut Book of the Year, so it’s a safe bet. And this is one series best read in order due to a number of big surprises that would be ruined if read out of order. Although … they can be read alone, as well.

      Good luck in the contest!!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  50. How FUN! An interview with the Heroine! 🙂
I love to paint and do many types of needlework.
    Sounds like a great read.
Please enter me into the drawing.
    Thank you for the chance.

    Wendy

    • Hey, WENDY … smart girl for commenting on more than one of my giveaway blogs — this is a GREAT way to win a signed book, seriously. I win 2 or 3 books a year myself this way, and I seldom comment, so the odds are really good. I have had at least three reader friends win FOUR books each, so it can be done with consistent posting on giveaways. Here’s hoping your work pays off, sweetie!

      Hugs,
      Julie

  51. Loved the interview. I look forward to reading the rest of the story between Sean and Emma. Thanks Julie for another wonderful book.

    • Thanks, SHERYL … and thank you ESPECIALLY for reading my books, my friend! Good luck in the contest. 🙂

      Hugs,
      Julie

  52. I would love to win this book!!! I have the first series and am working on a hope undaunted. These books are an inspiration. They are set in a time period that I love and just reading about that time period and what the character has to go through is an inspiration.

    • ERICKA … thank you SO very much for your kind words! AHU is my fav of all the books I’ve written, so I hope you like it too. Emma’s story, however, is my husband and crit partner’s fav, so to each his own! Good luck in the contest!

      Hugs,
      Julie
