Interview with the heroine from Mom in the Making by Kit Wilkinson:

1. Becky, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I can’t say I think of myself as a very interesting person. I live in a small town and teach middle school. But I just met a man who is a doctor in the Army and lives overseas most of the time. Now, THAT sounds interesting

2.  What do you do for fun?

I like taking walks and listening to music. I also love to read.

3.  What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Planning for the future. I’m really afraid things won’t turn out the way I want them to and that I’ll be disappointed. So, I just try not to think to much about where I’m headed.

4.  What are you afraid of most in life?

I’m afraid of losing my baby…of losing anyone, really.  I’ve already lost my mother and my husband. It’s almost like if I love something it is sure to be taken away. I know that can’t be true, but it is my fear…

5.  What do you want out of life?

I’d love to have a big family. I want to be a part of a group of people who love and support each other. I’ve never really had that. It was always just my mom and me growing up. I’d always wanted to have lots of kids so they would have each other and not feel so lonely like I have.

6.  What is the most important thing to you?

God and family. And, of course, honoring my late husband’s last wish to live with his mother until our child is born.

7.  Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?

I read lots of novels. I teach sixth grade so I read a lot of middle grade books. But I also love historical novels.

8.  If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would try to be less sad about my losses. I’d try to let go and remember that God is always going to take care of me.

9.  Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I had a dog, but I had to give him away when I moved in with my mother-in-law.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I’d go back to the months before my mother passed and make her go to the doctor.

She could have been treated for her condition. She just didn’t know that she had it.

And even if she wasn’t cured, it would give me the chance to tell her that she was the best mother. I never got to tell her that.
