Interview with the hero from Mistaken Identity by K. Dawn Byrd:
1. C.J., tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I just moved across the country with my mom. I have a crush on the girl next door, but she’s a sophomore and I’m a senior. I’m not sure her dad would approve, so I haven’t asked her out.
2. What do you do for fun?
I jog and I play football. I also restore old cars and ride a motorcycle.
3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
Math. I hate it. I’ve heard that most guys are good at it, but I stink. A hot girl is tutoring me at my new school. She’s not girlfriend material though. I’m only interested in Christian girls who are living for God and I’ve heard she’s a little wild. I know she’s interested in me and even though she’s pretty, I’m just not into her.
4. What are you afraid of most in life?
My dad died in Iraq. I’m most afraid of losing those I love.
5. What do you want out of life?
I want to go to college, get a good job, and marry the girl of my dreams.
6. What is the most important thing to you?
My mom. Since my dad is gone, I’m all she has. She’s counting on me and I won’t let her down.
7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
I love to read car magazines.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d like to learn to trust. Really trust. My last girlfriend cheated on me and I’ve had a hard time getting over it.
9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I don’t have a pet, but I’d like to have a dog when we get settled in. A big dog that will jog with me .
10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I’d go back and hang out in the factory where they made the Model-T because I love cars so much.
