This week I’m hosting Susan Page Davis with Love Finds You in Prince Edward Island, Kathi Macias with People of the Book, and Allie Pleiter with Yukon Wedding. If you want to enter the drawings, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (April 10th) evening.

Interview with the heroine for Allie Pleiter’s YUKON WEDDING:

Lana, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I have been in the finest places Seattle has to offer. I used to go to dances and parties with elegant people and lovely things. You wouldn’t know it by my cabin now, but I once had a splendid home. I’m learning, however, that there can be more important things than one’s surroundings. Independence is a rare and powerful thing.

What do you do for fun?
Fun? I remember fun. Most people will tell you it’s quite a rarity up here in the Alaskan wilderness, but my two year old son Georgie can find fun in the most surprising places. For me, most of my time is spent in the necessities of survival. What I wouldn’t give to be able to choose curtain fabrics or plan a party again!

What do you put off doing because you dread it?
Spending time with Mack Tanner. He thinks marrying me will be the answer to all my problems. He couldn’t be more wrong, if you ask me.

What are you afraid of most in life?
I’ve lost so much up here in the Yukon–my husband, my comfort, my position, most of my possessions–I’m most afraid that when I look back, none of it will have been worth it. That keeps my up nights here even more than the midnight sun.

What do you want out of life?
For Georgie to have a wonderful future. To be a person who matters, who has made a difference in Treasure Creek and who can do something worthwhile. I never thought I’d want to teach before, but I think I could be quite good at it if given the chance.

What is the most important thing to you?
My son Georgie. He is my whole world right now.

Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I haven’t seen a book in ages. I’d spend hours pouring over those McGuffey Readers they use in classrooms if I had the chance.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d be the kind of woman who could take on any challenge the Yukon dishes out. There are women up here with so much strength it amazes you. I want to have that kind of strength and independence.

Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
Pet? I have enough trouble keeping Georgie and I in decent food!

If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
If somehow I could return to Seattle, erasing all that’s happened to me when my husband lost his fortune and his life, I’d go back to that time. Only, however, if I could do it as a strong, independent woman. That’s just not possible, is it?
