Interview with the heroine of Throw The Devil Off The Train, to be released May 1st, 2011:

1. I, Catherine Draper, have an identical twin sister who is nothing like me in personality or lifestyle. Although we look alike, she dresses and walks in a much more glamorous way. I’m a mere shadow next to her. But when she’s not around, I get a lot of attention.

2. What do you do for fun? Use my honey-sweet southern belle accent and feminine charms to get what I want or desperately need. To get things done. . .my way. It’s like a game I’ve played since my youth.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? Letting anyone know that my last name really isn’t Draper because if you knew my right name, you’d know a lot of things about me that I’d like to keep to myself right now. . .such as I’m wanted for attempted murder back in my home state of Virginia.

4. What are you afraid of most in life? Because of her choices, something dreadful might happen to my twin sister, Catelynn. That awful Matthew Zane. . .I hate him! Why is he on this train? And without Catelynn?

5. What do you want out of life? To head west to California to marry my fiancé Philip in the town of Paradise and begin my own family. Though we haven’t seen each other since childhood, we’ve been writing back and forth for many years. He’s perfect for me. And he owns a store and house. Sounds like a great way to start a fresh, new life, free of the past.

6. What is the most important thing to you? To get as far away from Virginia as I can. Too many bitter memories of the war and my parents. And to get through this long, hectic, cramped train ride to Sacramento as soon as possible, while avoiding the scroungiest, rudest, most annoying passenger, name of Race Hillyard.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read? I’ve always been an avid reader and like to live in the stories while I read. My favorite authors are Shakespeare, Dickens and Mark Twain.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? You mean, besides being so tall that I tower over most men? Well, not to be so fiery, opinionated and quick to act. I count that as one thing because they all go together.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet? Before the war we had many different sorts of pets. But not since we lost our place. No. Very sad. I look forward to lots of animals when I share my life with my precious Philip in Paradise.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? Before the Civil War when I was happy living with my mom and dad and sister on our Virginian estate. I often dream about those times. So sweet.
