Heroine Interview for Love Finds You in Tombstone, AZ by Miralee Ferrell:

1.Christy, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
It’s not something I’m proud of, but I used to work in a saloon serving drinks to the cowboys and miners. I pray I’ll never have to return to that kind of life again.

2.What do you do for fun?
I haven’t had a lot of fun in my life, but I guess I’d have to say taking my nephew Toby (he’s 7 now) for a horseback ride. He’s the joy of my life and a sweetie!

3.What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I’m afraid I don’t have the luxury of putting much off, not when there’s so much work to do keeping life and limb together. Of course, living in 1881 in Tombstone doesn’t make for an easy life, but I’m doing my best to care for my mother and make things a little easier for her.

4.What are you afraid of most in life?
Disappointing my mother and ending up like her—both at the same time. It’s hard to explain, as I’ve always wanted to please her, but have a horrible fear that if something doesn’t change in my life, I won’t escape some of the same things that befell her. But I’m determined NOT to let that happen, and praying something happens soon that will turn things around.

5.What do you want out of life?
I’d love to find a man who truly loves me for who I am and accepts me in spite of my past. Having a home and a family of my own is something I dream about, but can only hope for.

6.What is the most important thing to you?
Family. I lost my older sister a few years ago, my brother is heading down the wrong track, and my mother is critically ill. Sometimes it feels as though I’ll never have a sense of home and purpose, with the people I love surrounding me. I’m working hard to keep my family together and provide for them the best that I can, but I pray constantly that Ma will get better and Joshua will realize he needs to change. Maybe someday the good Lord will bring someone into my life that loves me and together we can care for Ma and Joshua even better than what I can do on my own.

7.Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I only went to school until I was fourteen, but I loved reading. Since I ran away when I turned sixteen I’ve had little time to read, and it’s hard to find much to read in most of the frontier towns where I’ve lived. I try to read the Bible when I can, but don’t have time for much else.

8.If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My past. I wish I hadn’t gotten so mad at Ma when I was sixteen and ran away from home—and taking a job in a saloon was the worst decision I ever made. But I’m working to turn that around and make a better life for myself and my family.

9.Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I’ve never had a pet, but it would be nice to have a dog someday. Working & living in a saloon and dance hall isn’t the best place to keep an animal.

10.If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I don’t know much about time travel, how do you do that? I guess I’d go back to Last Chance where I used to live and my best friend Alexia lives.

  6. Am so grateful to have found these books. Getting to know the author a little, and then getting to know the individuals somewhat that are in the story. Would love any one of these books. Need to write these down to buy in case I don't win, these all sound good.

  7. Thanks gals, I so appreciate all of you stopping by, and your great comments!! I wish each of you could win a book, but then I guess if everyone won instead of buying, I'd be out of a job, LOL! Seriously, thank you for your support, you're the best!
