This week I’m hosting Richard Mabry with Medical Error, Lorna Seilstad with Making Waves and Darlene Franklin with A Woodland Christmas. If you want to enter the drawings, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (September 26th) evening.

Interview with the heroine from A Woodland Christmas:

1.Polly, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
I don’t know that there’s much all that interesting about me. I’m just an ordinary girl taking care of my family. I had to take over for my mother after she died. I suppose you might like to know that I won all kinds of Bible memory verse competitions.

2. What do you do for fun?
I go to visit with my friend, Jean Carpenter. We’ve been best friends since we were little girls. I also teach children at church; I love working with children

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I don’t have time to think about it. I just go ahead and do the next thing. That’s what I’ve had to do ever since Ma died and I’ve been taking care of the young ‘uns. Maybe I don’t like it when I have an argument with somebody. I hate to go and talk with them about it. I feel so bad, I don’t know what to say.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?
I’m most afraid that Pa’s memory will get worse. He’s real forgetful sometimes. We’ve already lost our Ma. What if something happens to Pa, too? What will happen to me and my brothers and sisters?

5. What do you want out of life?
I had hoped to become a schoolteacher, but I had to stay home and help with my family, since I’m the eldest. I confess to you that Joey Carpenter will come home and ask me to marry him some day.

6. What is the most important thing to you?
To be the kind of person God wants me to be, to do everything like I’m doing for the Lord Himself. And of course my family.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I love to read, everything. I especially like to read poetry.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I didn’t want more than what I have. God has given me plenty, but there are times I wish I didn’t have to count pennies so tight or that we’d had the money for me to go to school. I should be satisfied with what God has given me.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
Not now. I used to have a cat when we lived on the firm, but I couldn’t catch her when we moved to town.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I would like to go back and live in Bible times. I’d like to have visited the manger on that first Christmas morning. Or maybe hear the apostle Paul preach, or worship at Solomon’s temple.
