This week I’m hosting Ruth Axtell Morren with To Be a Mother and Deborah Vogts with Seeds of Summer. If you want to enter the drawings, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (May 2nd) evening.

Interview with the heroine from A Family of Her Own by Ruth Axtell Morren:

1. Rianna, tell me the most interesting thing about you. I think of myself as an ordinary person. You’d have to ask Noah, the hero of A Family of Her Own, what he thinks. Perhaps he’d say it’s my laugh—and the joy I have welling up inside of me.

2. What do you do for fun? I stroll along the seaside at low tide looking for “treasures,” which can be anything from an interesting shell to a piece of sea glass.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? Visiting disagreeable people. In a village like Wood’s Harbor, Maine, thankfully, there are only a few, but they can’t be avoided.

4. What are you afraid of most in life? Hurting those I love. Once I was careless about the feelings of others, but experience has shown me how fragile life and friendships are.

5. What do you want out of life? To be a good wife to Noah Samuels and a good mother to his daughter Melanie.

6. What is the most important thing to you? To be in God’s will.

7. Do you read? Yes.

If so, what is your favorite type of book to read? I love to read the Bible. Since I am a nurse, I also like to read botanical books or herbals on the healing properties of wild plants and herbs.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would be more patient.

9. Do you have a pet? No, because I have not had a home of my own for many years. But I soon hope to!

If so, what is it and why that pet? Now, that I hope to have a home and family of my own, I plan to have both a dog and a few cats.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? Perhaps only a few decades before my birth, to see how my grandparents lived on these rugged shores of Maine.
