Congratulations to Linda for winning Vickie McDonough’s Wild West Christmas.

This week I’m hosting Susan Page Davis with Sheriff’s Surrender and Shirley Connolly with I See God in the Thorns~n~Thistles. If you want to enter the drawing for the book, please leave a comment on one of the post during the week with your email address. I will not enter you without an email address (my way to contact you if you win). If you don’t want to leave an email address, another way you can enter is to email me at margaretdaley@gmail.com. The drawings end Sunday (Dec. 13th) evening.

Bio for Susan Page Davis:

Susan Page Davis is the author of more than two dozen novels in the historical romance and romantic suspense genres. The Sheriff’s Surrender combines the best of both. Susan lives in Maine with her husband Jim, a retired news editor, and their two youngest children. They also have four adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.

Visit her web site at www.susanpagedavis.com.

Back cover copy for Sheriff’s Surrender:

Gert Dooley can shoot the tail feathers off a jay at a hundred yards from years of test-firing the guns her brother repairs. But long after giving up on marriage, she longs for rancher Ethan Chapman to see she’s more than a crack shot. When murder strikes the sleepy town, Gert forms the Ladies’ Shooting Club to teach the women how to protect themselves, their families, and their businesses.

Ethan didn’t ask to be named sheriff, but he accepts the position and takes on the investigation into the mysterious death of his predecessor. Now he’s pressured by the town’s women to restore order and safety to Fergus, and by the men who insist Ethan disband the upstart Ladies’ Shooting Club.

Another person is murdered, and Ethan turns to Gert and her ladies to help in the investigation. But will they find the murderer before he strikes again?

Bio for Shirley Connolly

Shirley is a graduate of Institute of Children’s Literature. When not penning historical fiction romances laced with nuggets of inspiration, or journaling reflections aimed at readers in search of lighthearted encouragement, Shirley serves as teacher and speaker to women’s groups, writes Bible study curriculum for various retreat and workshops, and is a feature writer for local community organizations and several online women’s Christian groups. Shirley stays actively involved with numerous writers’ groups: American Christian Fiction Writers: Hearts through History Chapter of Romance Writers of America; and Faith-Hope-Love, RWA, among others. Shirley can be found at http://apenforyourthoughts.blogspot.com/ and http://shirleykoinonia.tripod.com and can be reached at sh1rlee@verizon.net . Her books include “It Happened Near the Cliff Rock,” “Flame from Within,” and her I SEE GOD series. “I See God in the Simple Things,” “I See God in the Thorns~n~Thistles,” and the third in the devotional series which comes out in 2010, “I See God on the Narrow Road.”

Blurb for I SEE GOD IN THE THORNS~n~THISTLES:

When your heart is burdened and you’re experiencing times of trial, where do you turn? When you’re challenged by the complexities of life, the afflictions, the tests, and the tragedies, do you run to or from God? If you run toward Him, do you try to see what He’s teaching you?

God remains with you not only in the simple circumstances but also during the toughest times of your life. You’re never alone, and I See God in the Thorns~n~Thistles offers you, in independent devotions, a way to make the most out of the troubles, a way to draw closer to God because, and oftentimes in spite of, your pain.
