Leigh DeLozier’s bio:
Leigh DeLozier has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and 20 years of experience in the publications and public relations arena. Most of her professional experience has been in healthcare communications, although her work has been published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, local and regional magazines, and other periodicals.
She established her freelance business, On-Time Editorial Services, in 1999. She works with a wide range of clients to write, edit, and proofread projects ranging from brochures, press releases, and newsletters to websites, sales catalogs, and annual reports. She also serves as the editor and primary writer for H Magazine, a bimonthly community magazine in her home county of Henry County, Georgia.
Leigh’s Christian publishing debut came in 2005 through Penned from the Heart, an annual devotional book featuring writers from across North America. To date, three editions of Penned have included some of Leigh’s devotionals. Other devotionals have appeared in The Secret Garden and Cross and Quill, the newsletter for Christian Writers Fellowship International.
Leigh’s first book, Work-from-Home Moms’ Devotions to Go, was published in June 2006 by Extreme Diva Media. Two more devotional books are in the works with Extreme Diva: Divas in Disguise: Finding the True Diva in You looks at various women in Scripture who can teach us what’s really important in life, and Every Girl’s a Diva: Knowing God Loves You Just As You Are emphasizes that each of us is special to God, now matter who we are or where we’ve been. Both of these books target middle/high school girls and are scheduled for 2008/2009 releases.
Christian education is one of Leigh’s greatest passions in her church, Timberridge Presbyterian in McDonough, Ga. She has written a wide range of Sunday school lessons for elementary students, as well as supplemental lesson material for elementary and middle school students. She rotates between teaching upper elementary and middle grades Sunday school and has led Bible studies for women and middle school girls.
She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Christian Writers Fellowship International, The Writers View 2, and East Metro Atlanta Christian Writers (a chapter of American Christian Writers). She serves as publicity officer for EMACW and promotes the group’s monthly meetings and periodic conferences featuring speakers including Guideposts author Marion Bond West and author/editor Elizabeth Sherrill.
