This is an interview of Leanna’s heroine from Lookin Back Texas.

Hi, Margaret, thanks for having me.

I’m knee deep in wedding plans for my parents’ renewal of their vows, but I’d love to stop thinking of cakes and flowers for a minute to answer your questions.

2. What do you do for fun?
I love to go to the beach with my husband and son. We live in LaJolla, California. Often we will take Mike’s sailboat out for the day, sometimes sailing over to Catalina Island.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I’ve always put off going home. My relationship with my mother was somewhat strained. I won’t go into details in case you haven’t read our story yet. But ever since the funeral fiasco, let’s just say we understand each other.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?
Fear used to run my life. But God showed me I needed to face those fears.

5. What do you want out of life?
My marriage and family has always been the most important thing in my life. I want my marriage to stay strong and my family to stay close.

6. Do you have a love interest? If so, tell us about him. If not, why not?
Mike is definitely the love of my life. But when I recently went home to try and stop my mother from burying my father (since he wasn’t dead!), I came face to face with an old boyfriend who I care about greatly. But I really shouldn’t say much more …

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Being honest with myself and others about my mistakes. It became a habit, a bad habit, to appear as perfect as possible. I think I inherited that trait from my mother.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
We don’t at this time. But Oliver has always wanted a dolphin. At least we can look out our back windows at the ocean. I don’t think we’ll be putting one in the pool anytime soon.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I’m content to stay in the present, but if Mike and Oliver wanted to take a trip back in time then I’d go wherever they go. Honestly, I’ve visited the past enough (as you’ll see in the book – not time traveling though) and I prefer to go forward from here on out.
