I saw the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe this past weekend and really enjoyed it. I never read the book as a child (or for that matter as an adult) but after seeing the movie and knowing how much richer most books are than the movie I have decided to get the series. I probably won’t finish it until next summer because it will take me a while to read six books but the premise is wonderful.
My only complaint about the movie is they could have cut some of the time off it and the story would have moved a little faster. But I really enjoyed the story. The special effects were great!!! The story was about good against evil, dark against light and cold against warmth. The witch was icy and evil–the woman who played her did a good job of conveying that. The children were adorable, especially Lucy. So if you get a chance, check out the movie. Great for the family. There are some battle scenes that really young children might not see but otherwise it is fine.
