officialInterview with the hero from The Warrior’s Vow by Christina Rich:

1. Jesse, tell me the most interesting thing about you. Oh, I don’t know. I’m the youngest brother in a family of temple guards.

2. What do you do for fun? Harass my older brothers and watch the sun rise in the morning and set in the evening.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it? I don’t know that there is anything I dread overmuch. I used to dread the time of day when my father gathered us together to recite Moses’s Law. I was never good at memorizing.

4. What are you afraid of most in life? I guess I most fear coming up short in the Lord’s eyes.

5. What do you want out of life? To be filled with joy.

6. What is the most important thing to you? To love the Lord my God with all my might, with all my soul and all my strength. And of course, to love Abigail.

7. Do you read books? Ha! My father was forever trying to teach us from the elders’ scrolls. I fear I was not a very good student. Now, I wish I would have paid more attention to the words and less time staring at the sky. If so, what is your favorite type of book?

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Me? Nothing. Now my brothers…. *wink*

9. Do you have a pet? Have you seen the palace? We are nearly suffocating in pets. Cats, dogs, bird… My wife is forever finding another creature in need of her care. And they are beginning to find my bed more comfortable than theirs. It can be quite irritating. However, I would not exchange Abigail’s compassion for all the riches in the world. If so, what is it and why that pet?

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? Hmmm, that is a good question. I think I would go back to the time when our people left Egypt. I know it sounds strange, but I do not think God intended us to put Moses and his Law above God. It is God who is holy, not Moses. I am certain Moses would say the same if he were to be asked.
