loveinspiredtrrbewInterview with the heroine from Forgotten Past by Mary Alford:

1. Faith McKenzie, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

Hum, well, I’d say the most interesting thing about me was something that happened about two years ago. I was attacked by someone bad. The attack was so horrific that it wiped away both my memories of it and my past. My attacker killed two people I loved and was determined to make sure I never regained my memories. For years, he followed me every time I tried to get away. Thanks to JT Wyatt and his security team, I was able to both regain my memory of him and the attack and bring him to justice. In the process, I found the man of my dreams in JT.

2. What do you do for fun?
I love to cook. Before I moved to Hope Island, Maine, I lived in Montana. The winters there can be fierce. One winter I took an online cooking class and fell in love with the art of making a meal from simple ingredients. Someday, I want to open my very own bakery on Hope Island.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
For the longest time, before I got my memory back, I hated meeting new people because I never knew if one of them might be the person responsible for hurting me. Not being able to remember the face of the person who attacked me was terrifying.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?
After living in constant fear for two years, at times still, it is hard letting go of that fear. I guess my biggest fear now is waking up to discover I’m right back in the midst of the nightmare again.

5. What do you want out of life?
Moving to Hope Island changed my life for the better although for a time, until I met my husband JT, I was too scared of losing my life to realize it. Now that I’m safe, my future has never looked brighter. JT and I have moved into the house he’s restoring on Hope Island. My greatest wish is to be the best wife I can be for him. He’s an amazing man. My own real life knight in shining armor. One day, I hope with God’s blessing to have children to fill our life with joy.

6. What is the most important thing to you?
I am one blessed woman. God has given me more than I ever believed possible. I now have all my memories back. I remember my father. He loved me so much and tried to protect me from the man who hurt me. I remember my good friend who gave up her life so that I might live. In addition, after living two years in a nightmare, never expecting anything good to happen, God sent a wonderful man into my life who has been there beside me through rediscovering my past and will be there with me in all the future happiness I expect we will have together.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
I do like to read. These days, I love sweet romances. Anything with a happy ending where the hero and heroine end up together.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would be more trusting. Trusting people still comes hard to me. It’s something that I’m working very hard to overcome.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
I do have a pet. A little Pug by the name of Ollie. Ollie has been beside me through so many important moments in my life. I can’t imagine life without him.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
If I could travel back in time, I’d go back two years, before the attack. I would see what I should have seen back then. The danger that was so close and hopefully I could stop it before it happened. Most importantly, I would tell my father and my dear friend how much they meant to me. None of us is guaranteed forever. We should make it a point to tell the people close to us how much they mean to us each day.
