1. Treb Rayburn, tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I love to travel. Just me and my horse—I couldn’t get anywhere without a horse. Which is why I just got stranded in Midway, Texas because my horse died on me out in the middle of nowhere and I had to pack my saddle on my shoulder for 3 days before I got to this town. Now I’ve taken a job and will work until I make enough money to buy a new horse. Then I’ll finish my journey to Galveston to see the port and the beach I keep hearing so much about.

2. What do you do for fun?

I guess you can say that the traveling part is what I do for fun. I work along the way, but the wanderlust in my veins is strong and I’ve never found anything that could make me want to give it up.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Talking about my past. Some things hurt too much.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?

Loving someone and letting them down.

5. What do you want out of life?

To see as much of the world as I can…but I took this job helping Katie Pearl rebuild her house. It was destroyed in a tornado that killed her pa and trapped her under the rubble for several days. Poor young woman acts kind of strange now. Why she’s got this thing about wanting to shoot men if they show up and ask her to marry them. I don’t blame her really, its easy to tell since her Pa was killed that they think they can marry her and get their hands on her nice ranch. But if there is one thing I’ve learned about my new boss its that she might be talking to herself and acting like she’s not got a full deck of cards in her head but the woman is sweet—and she can shoot like Wyatt Earp. Me, I’d never be crazy enough to ask her to marry me. I don’t want to get shot. I’m just here to rebuild her house, get my paycheck and my horse and be on my way.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

Right now, that’s what I focus on. I try to live in the moment. And right now I want to help Katie Pearl get over whatever it is that’s got her mixed up and confused acting.

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

I read about places I want to go.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

That I could have my family back.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

No. Being on the road makes it hard to have a pet.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

I’d go back and try and save my family…and I’d go back and warn Katie Pearl and her pa about the tornado coming. I’d do that for Katie. Poor spitfire of a woman needs a man around here. And she loved her pa a whole lot.
